Thoughts on Time Away

taking time away from my blog

Oh hello there, long lost blog! It’s been a while…but no apologies here. I’ve been busy moving around, celebrating major events with family and friends in different countries, and overall just not at all attached to this here lil ole blog.

See the thing is, doing anything for five years straight can make you feel a little run down. But doing an extensive amount of work for free for five years straight will certainly make you question your sanity! So, after five full years of blogging here, I took some time away.

A quick rundown of life in Malta lately for expat writer Amanda Walkins

We’ve been crazy busy!! In the best sort of way, though. Since I simply don’t have the time right now to offer lots of in-depth insights into where we’ve been and what we’ve done (not to say I won’t find the time eventually!), here’s a quick rundown of life in Malta lately.

The Grass is Always Greener for Expats

The grass is always greener on the other side...especially for expats.

Expats are a funny bunch. We move across oceans and we immerse ourselves into different cultures and, yet, we’re always missing something. For many of us expats, we’re missing family and friends back home. For others, they’re missing the comforts and familiarity of home. For those of us who have moved more than once, we’re just trying to find that feeling of “home.”

Whatever it is, for some reason, the grass is always greener somewhere else for expats.

Volunteer for a Coastal Cleanup in Malta

Volunteer to join your community coastal cleanup

Recently, I joined a diverse group of people coming together for a common cause: I was a volunteer for a coastal cleanup in Malta. A coastal cleanup is a fantastic activity to do wherever you are in the world. There were many in Roatan, but I was never able to take part because of work or other commitments. This time around, I offer no excuses.
