Roatan Fundraiser Events

The next event in the 2015 Golden Buoy Competition benefitting the SOL Foundation will be hosted this Sunday, May 17th, at the Black Pearl championship golf course at Pristine Bay. This “best ball” golf tournament will be hosted by Sun Divers, one of the newest dive shops in West End. You don’t have to be a great golfer to participate – just go have some fun, enjoy the views, and raise money for an excellent cause. Space is limited, so be sure to register if you’d like to participate!

BONUS: Even if you can’t be there in person, you can still contribute to this golf tournament in a really cool way! Sun Divers is aiming to raise $450 to sponsor six local kids so they can participate as well. What an incredible opportunity! To contribute to their goal, contact Sun Divers at diving@sundiversroatan.com.

More about SOL Foundation

The SOL (School of Life) International Foundation works to initiate and support community-based programs designed to promote education and to increase the quality of life in developing areas. Through the support of grants and fundraisers like the Golden Buoy, SOL focuses on enhancing the standards of education, arts, and athletics in lesser developed areas.

SOL also raises money through its adult co-ed softball league, through the annual Music Festival for the Angels, and through other fundraisers throughout the year. The work they do for the island’s families is amazing – be sure to check out their website to see some of the specific programs they’re working on now: http://solroatan.org/

If you’re visiting Roatan between now and June 6th, be sure you’re subscribed to the blog and also connect with me on Facebook so you don’t miss out on any of these fabulous events. This is a wonderful opportunity for each of us to give back to this amazing community. Enter your email into the Subscription box below to stay updated.
