In case you haven’t already found her through the interwebs (copyright Cousin Laura), Rika from Cubicle Throwdown offers TONS of great info on all things diving and all things Roatan. Word to the wise: When you are embarking on a new venture, understand that you know nothing.

Alright, folks, here’s the deal. I manage a dive shop in Roatan. I know things. You want to become a diver. That is awesome! But you don’t yet know anything about diving. So pay attention to the following…very…very…very carefully.

Here’s the thing about living in Roatan…you need to dive. Not like dive off of a dock and swim around. No. You can’t live on an island surrounded by part of the second largest barrier reef system on Earth without scuba diving.

Some of the dive sites along West End, West Bay, and Sandy Bay. The reef is so close I could throw something at it from my dock at Ocean Connections.
